A new study shows cannabis can help with pain caused by #sickle cell disease. A recent trial consisted of 23 patients with sickle cell participated in 2 five-day inpatient sessions where they inhaled either vaporized cannabis or placebo. The scientist assessed the patient’s pain levels and effectiveness of cannabis in walking and sleeping. It was found that cannabis helped control the pain caused by sickle cell disease, but also was a good alternative for participants struggling with #opioid use. Once again this study is a huge step for medical cannabis and for research of how cannabis can help chronic pain.
