I would like to share a easy recipe for a DIY THC CBD infused cream. I found that it has given me some relief from the terrible pain in my legs.
I found that I got little to no relief if I ingested my oil but if applied it topically to the affected area that I got better much better results. I wanted to share how I made my cream and some of the information I found in the process.
I was always been interested in trying a infused topical cream for pain. My only concern was on what I was really getting for my money. I sat down and did a little research, I found out that a lot of these creams out there were using questionable sources of cannabis.
The truth is, we have no clue as to the quality of the cannabis going in them, we don’t see thc or cbd percentages, we don’t know if pesticides were used on the cannabis during production. Or even further more if mold was present. It’s totally unregulated. We are really left in the dark, leaving us with a list of unknowns which makes it sketchy at best.
I went scouring the internet and found that most of these infused creams shared common ingredients coconut oil, Shea butter, and beeswax to name a few. One ingredient in particular found in a few creams stood out, Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium oil. This left me wondering what was so beneficial about this mineral and, if it was something that I might want to add to my own DIY infused cream.
I found that Magnesium Chloride is natural and something our body needs and is often lacking. Its a natural pain reliever, muscle relaxer and helps with muscle cramps and spasms.
Other than its potential pain relief benefits it also absorbs into the skin transdermally. This means that it can penetrate the skin and enter the blood stream directly. Theoretically if combined with cannabis oil this should make a great delivery system.
I found a great source of transdermal magnesium in this balm I have here from Natural Calm Canada. If you want to mix up your own batch from the raw ingredients that is totally your choice, I just found it a little easier to do it this way as you don’t need to buy so many ingredients. They do sell a magnesium liquid also that would work the same if you wanted to mix up your own cream from scratch.
Before I go any further I want to clearly state that I am not connected with Natural Calm Canada ,Tweed nor am I a medical professional. This is strictly my opinion based off of my own independent research. I always suggest for others to do their own research SO you come to your own conclusion. I will happily post all of the resources I used below.
I thought using this Magnesium Chloride balm would make for a great base for the following reasons, Its a balm so it’s thick enough that it would allow me to add a reasonable amount of my oil without it turning into a oily mess.
it’s made from highly absorbable magnesium chloride, It uses all natural ingredients like coconut oil, raw Shea butter beeswax and NATURAL Magnesium chloride.
All the ingredients in the balm are great for your skin as they all help moisturize and replenish, MOST moisturizing creams and lotions on the market use these ingredients in them.In my opinion this makes for a great base cream.
There are also no scents added so it should be alright for people with sensitivities to perfumes. But as a warning you always want to test on a small area before applying to your whole leg or arm etc.. there is always a risk that you may be allergic or sensitive to one of the ingredients,.
So now I’m going to show you how I mix up my THC/ CBD infused cream using Natural calms Magnesium Chloride Balm and some oil I ordered from one of my Licensed producers.
This oil has a low thc and mid cbd ratio. Your oil may vary in strength and viscosity so please keep that in mind when mixing it up.
The other thing you need are some containers which I found at the dollar store, a device to mix it all up and maybe some oils if you choose. I like Eucalyptus oil so I might add a little bit to the mix as well
My Ratio is as follows 16 grams of balm to 2.5 ml of oil
next step is to mix up cream really well using your stirring device.
So the application is easy just grab a little bit and apply to the affected area and rub it in really well. I find it takes about a half hour to 45 minutes before I get any relief but maybe if I had a high cbd and thc oil that maybe I would get better results.
