I’d like to discuss how prescription medication was no help with my torture but using cannabis, illegal as it is, was the only way of getting relief. I have had my experience of prolonged, extreme pain. Torture is the only way of describing it. In 2007 I broke my neck when on holiday in Spain. Ever since I have been paralysed from the neck down and attached to a ventilator to breathe. I am happy, enjoying life and trying to spread the message that a life changing setback doesn’t mean an end to a good life. Thankfully, the days of endless pain I am talking about are over but they are still a reality for many many people. Why are they being denied some respite from their agony?
