On this episode of the Austinite Podcast, we sat down with Blunt Babe while she was in Austin for our Smoke X Southwest (SXSW) events. We learn about how she keeps it “blunt” and that’s where the name comes from. She tells us about entering the Texas canna industry the day the country shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic. Coming from a catholic East Texas family, she talks about the initial struggle of flipping the stigma her family held on the plant. This was her first step in creating her own hemp business in March of 2020. Blunt Babe continues on telling us how she grew her business and brand to what it has become today. She tells us about her first encounter with the plant and how it changed her perspective on it for the early part of her life. Mental health is very important to Blunt Babe, and she talks about her social media being aimed at how canna can benefit a persons mental health because that is how the plant helped her.
