When the Mighty Diamonds dropped me off at the Greyhound bus station in Arcata in October of 2019, I would never have thought it would be the last time I would see my beautiful friend, Donald “Tabby” Shaw alive. The Diamonds had invited me on a road trip and that week, they played an uplifting show in Arcata, spent some time cooking and jamming at a local Air BNB and then headed to a recording studio to do some dub plates. That was also the time I accidentally bit into a shrimp burrito and became a drama queen when I thought I was going into allergic shock and a local promoter rushed me to CVS in a brand new Tesla.
