The acromioclavicular joint, or AC joint, is one of the main joints that makes up the shoulder. It’s formed by the acromion of the shoulder blade and the lateral end of the collarbone. The AC joint is supported by the acromioclavicular, or AC, ligament and the coracoclavicular ligament, which is comprised of the conoid and trapezoid ligaments.
There are six types of AC joint injuries.
