The Post Office Plantswoman is Kathleen Hewitt, a delight of a lady who is central to the community of Scalford village, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. She’s a real people’s person and a decent plantswoman on top.
Here she reveals the thought processes behind the back garden she designed and until last year was just a lawn. One year on and you’d never guess! The new pond has even had protected species Great Crested Newts move in.
More established gardens to the side and front of the Post Office where she lives with partner Doug are also explored.
Huge thanks to Kathleen and Doug for welcoming me and my kids (and my friend’s dog!) and generously sharing their garden with you lovely folks at Plant Yo’ Pitch Up.
