In May 2023, I lost my Medicaid, leading to a denial of care from my pain management doctor. Although this was based on misinformation, it pushed me to a challenging journey of weaning off narcotics and pre-Gabalin. While I’ve managed to free myself from these drugs, the excruciating pain I experience daily is debilitating.
Today, I’m taking a step that frightens me. Even though I’ve never used illicit drugs or smoked marijuana, I’m exploring the potential of medical cannabis in Florida with a former medical school classmate to seek relief.
