It was a pleasure having my long time friend Sayeh Tavangar as my guest on AWESOME People.
She took us on her journey of immigrant life, to journalism and eventually the culinary world which has led to today, where it’s the perfect culmination of all the above!
What started as a stress-relieving hobby soon flourished into something more. Sayeh’s culinary prowess earned her a spot on Food Network’s competitive show, “Cooks vs. Cons,” where she triumphed against three professional chefs.
Her success on “Cooks vs. Cons” opened doors for Sayeh, leading her to compete on Food Network’s renowned show, “Chopped.” Additionally, she had the incredible opportunity to be featured on HBO’s series, “La Pitchoune,” where she immersed herself in the art of French cuisine within Julia Child’s home in the south of France.
She recently opened her own recreational cooking school, @dccookingschool, in which she and her team of chefs teach daily cooking classes ranging from Persian to Thai and Indian cuisines, and everything in between.
Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Sayeh also created her own cannabis pantry line, known as @caviarganja. This venture led her to establish the first-of-its-kind private cannabis supper club in DC, further showcasing her creativity and innovation.
