Grandma’s 3 Day Brisket Recipe
1st Day
Foil to wrap the meat and line a baking dish
Brush with liquid smoke, season with accent (we used beef rub), salt and pepper – cover with foil and refrigerate.
2nd Day
Place in cold oven – heat to 275 degrees – bake 2 1/2 to 3 hours – cool and refrigerate
3rd Day
Slice thin – cover each slice with barbecue sauce and bake 2-3 hours at 300 degrees uncovered about half the time so sauce will thicken.
Sauce
1/2 Cup Barbecue sauce
14 Oz catsup
1 tsp liquid smoke
1-2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
sprinkle with accent, salt and pepper (we used beef rub)
1/4 c brown sugar
Bring to a boil then dip the meat in the sauce – after it has cooked half the time uncovered, cover with foil and finish cooking the other half of the time.
It will be tender and very delicious with the famous mashed potatoes
