^ that’s literally a comment I got on one of my recent videos and a lot of other people had similar comments like this.
The stigma towards 🍃 still exists. You know how I know?
• there’s still a sizeable % of “hater like” comments on videos from other 🍃 creators including my videos. Don’t believe it? Check out these creators top videos and you’ll see that they also have to deal with negative comments @selfcarewithkarissa @coughcreative @chelseasjoint @fruitandflower @indicawife
• social media platforms allow for content showing n00dity and excessive 🍺🍷 consumption but have zero tolerance towards 🍃 content — even when it’s presented in an educational NFS manner
• there are municipalities in Canada that still prohibit 🍃 stores despite it being legal at the federal level
• I can’t speak to the US as much but I get TONS of DMs everyday from the US community saying how they still feel the stigma and have to hide their use
Stigmas and stereotypes are hard to break. Not just within 🍃 but in general. The war against 🍃 is so engrained into our society and the reality is that it will take time to change society’s perception of the plant. I believe it really starts with advocacy and more scientific data that defies outdated studies and brings new research to the forefront.
