I saw this quote from Nina Vasan (American psychiatrist) who said “Romanticizing your life is a way to explore mindfulness by being present in moments of your daily life. Through the act of romanticizing your life, you become more in touch with your actions, thoughts, and emotions as you go about your day”.
I do find that romanticizing mundane daily tasks has helped me in appreciating what I have rather than constantly thinking about what I don’t have / haven’t achieved yet. Mindfulness has been one of the best tools I’ve used this year to improve my mental health. Mindfulness has been shown to decrease anxiety and depression, as well as increase productivity and longevity 🤯
We live in such a crazy world where productivity and output is at the front and center of everything, sometimes I need to remind myself to also take a deep back, and give myself permission to just exist without constantly “producing”. And it’s little moments like this that help me with that internal dialogue 🧘🏻♀️
Side note I completely fell asleep on my couch after this J 🤣
