To start things off, Military Chocolate is a cross of Bubba Kush x Tropicanna Cookies. I picked this stuff up when it was damn near straight off the press. He wanted to give me an opportunity to experience it throughout the curing process and I thought that was a great idea! The photos start a day after I picked it up, sitting at room temp, the third photo was the day I whipped it for the first time and began refrigerating it, and the final two are from the end after four or five days of whipping and refrigeration. I used it relatively lightly for that first week, just taking small dabs to test it out. And the consistency definitely became oilier and stickier after several days of whipping.
The nose on this started as primarily peppery with a little creaminess. As the cure process went on, I noticed a lot more of a diesel note come through. And this was actually fairly consistent with the flavor. It started with a creamy spice and by the end of the cure period it was almost completely a hashy diesel on the nose and a diesel forward, slightly chocolatey and earthy note on the flavor with those hashy notes supporting it all. There was a point, maybe half way through the process, where it really had a strong chocolatey flavor profile but those diesel notes ended up taking over a bit. Overall a very solid flavor profile but I would’ve liked a little more of the chocolate on the nose and maybe even a bit more on the flavor.
The effects were incredible. As simply as I can put, this strain is basically perfect, for me. It was predominantly relaxing with a slightly uplifted head high. It was relaxed and happy without being too overstimulating or euphoric. It had a wonderful body high, kind of feeling like a warm blanket as it relaxed my body. It worked very well for pain relief of all kinds, did wonders for my mood and mental health, aided in supporting my appetite, and even helped as a sleep aid at a little higher dose.
