Jack Studebaker talks about CBD topical applications and their efficacy.
Topical CBD products like salves, creams, and ointments are considered good for inflammation. These products are designed to be applied directly to the skin over areas experiencing pain or inflammation. Here’s how they can help:
Targeted Relief: Topical CBD products provide localized relief by interacting with cannabinoid receptors in the skin. This can help manage pain and reduce inflammation in a specific area without systemic effects on the entire body.
Anti-inflammatory Properties: CBD has been shown to possess anti-inflammatory properties. When applied topically, it can help reduce swelling, redness, and pain caused by inflammation, making it beneficial for conditions like arthritis, muscle soreness, and various skin disorders.
Pain Management: Besides addressing inflammation, topical CBD is also thought to help with pain management by reducing the perception of pain in the applied area. This can be particularly useful for chronic pain conditions, joint pain, and nerve pain.
Skin Health: CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties, along with its potential antioxidant effects, can contribute to improved skin health. It may help treat or manage conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and skin irritation.
Safety and Tolerability: Topical CBD is generally well-tolerated, with a low risk of systemic side effects. This makes it an appealing option for people who may be cautious about ingesting CBD or those who are specifically looking to treat localized areas of inflammation.
While topical CBD products offer potential benefits for inflammation and pain, it’s important to choose high-quality products from reputable manufacturers to ensure safety and effectiveness. Additionally, while many users report positive outcomes, individual responses can vary, and more research is needed to fully understand the extent of CBD’s benefits when applied topically. As with any new treatment, consulting with a healthcare provider before using topical CBD is advisable, especially for individuals with underlying skin conditions or those using other medications.

We see CBD in everything from pillows and sheets to hot sauce and ketchups; it’s gotten a bit ridiculous. We focus on products that have the most efficacy, those that keep the cannabinoids in your body. When it comes to edibles, you’re going to lose a lot of that efficacy. But when it comes to topicals, topicals are good for isolated pain. So, if I have a pain in my shoulder, I can apply it straight to my shoulder. The great thing about topicals is that they don’t get into the bloodstream, so for anyone who is drug tested for their job, they can use a full-spectrum topical product. It penetrates enough for the cannabinoids to help with anti-inflammatory properties. Then, when you get into sublinguals, the oils, those are for more of a systemic effect throughout the body. You can use oils and topicals together. Our topical product, Relief Rub, is made with a local herbalist here in Colorado. She makes the base material and then infuses it with our cannabinoids. Her process is pretty unique because it’s done on a moon cycle, taking about four weeks to make a batch. In these huge vats, you’ve got all these organic oils and herbs that soak for four weeks, then that’s all strained out, and our cannabinoids are added to it. Our product is pretty unique in that regard.
