Hey everyone! It’s Cob. I’ve been loving delta-8 THC for the last few months and figured I’d start reviewing all the different products I’m trying. I’ll also use these reviews to update you on the CobCast.
I went to CBD American Shaman, which has stores all over North Texas and elsewhere, and got four products to try out: some delta-8 gummy edibles by Barney’s Botanicals, some Blue Dream flower by the shop’s sister company Zen Masters, and two packs of delta-8 “filters” by Earthy (they’re basically cigarettes with delta-doused hemp flower instead of tobacco).
I’m in love with the Barney’s 30 pack of 50 mg gummies. I paid $75 for them, which is a little steep, but the quality of the gummy (I’m particular about my candy) and the resulting high is so far unbeatable. For cost reference, I used to but a 25 pack of 25 mg gummies for $50. But, if you eat as many as I do, you’re kind of damned on the price either way.
The Zen Masters Blue Dream delta-8 hemp flower was good, but it didn’t blow me away. If I’m at CBD American Shaman grabbing a bunch of stuff, I’d probably throw an eighth of Blue Dream in with my order. But, generally speaking, I’ve really been satisfied with the flower selection at another place called CBD Pros. So, that’s usually where I get my flower from, but Zen Masters didn’t disappoint.
This is more than I could say for the Earthy delta-8 filters, unfortunately. I really wanted to like them because I love the idea of having a pack of delta-8 cigs, but the potency and quality of the flower compared to the price ($40 for a 20 pack of cigs) just isn’t doing it for me. Besides that though, I haven’t found another product quite like this and I’ve been trying for a while. So, I’m glad Earthy stepped up to the plate.
Have you ever tried one of these? If not, what have you tried? What’s your favorite D8 product and why? I want to know, so tell me in the comments.
What’s delta-8 THC and why is it legal?
Delta-8 is the legal, less potent psychoactive cannabinoid derived from hemp. Its stronger, illegal cousin, the stuff we all wish we could consume in the Lone Star State, is Delta-9 THC. Delta-8 and other cannabinoids like CBD became accessible in Texas in 2019 after Gov. Gregg Abbott signed House Bill 1325, legalizing the cultivation, possession and sale of industrial hemp that contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC.
