A joint naval exercise called Maritime Security Belt 2024, involving ships and helicopters from Russia, China, and Iran, entered its active phase in the Gulf of Oman yesterday. Russia’s Varyag cruiser and Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate and China’s missile destroyer Urumqi, Frigate Linyi, and supply ship Dongpinghu took part in the drill. Meanwhile, Iran deployed its latest stealthy missile catamaran.
