Guest Speaker: Dr. Alex Capano is the Chief Science Officer at Ananda Hemp (and parent company Ecofibre), a global biotech company focused on cannabis-derived nutraceuticals, food, textiles, and medical devices. She was the first doctoral candidate to focus on comprehensive cannabinoid science at Thomas Jefferson University’s Lambert Center for the Study of Medicinal Cannabis & Hemp. In 2019, Alex published a study on the CBD’s effects on opioid reduction and chronic pain. She is currently researching cannabis’ effects on various disease states in humans, including endometriosis and dementia, and identifying industrial applications of cannabis.
