For this episode of CANNABIS COOKING WITH KRISY D, I prepared a quick and easy little dish. This dish is deep fried and although most people don’t think of deep fried food is healthy, you can make your fried dishes much lighter and nutritious.
This meal is an assortment of freshly picked and sliced vegetables cooked in a light and tasty batter mix dutch oven style using only a metal strainer cast iron skillet combo. Deep fryers work just fine to make this meal but for the aesthetics of the show and your viewing please, I opted out of using one for the sake of a better presentation.
Using the cast iron and steel strainer makes it easy to use it on a propane burner outdoors. If you do a lot of deep frying you can use this method with chicken, fish, shrimp or anything else for that matter. Breaded steak, breaded pork loin, okra, jalapenos are some of my recommendations.
I encourage everyone to try new foods and combos that would please your pallet. It is OK to reuse the oil but remember that the oil will keep the flavor of the food that you use. It is best to cook your veggies before any farm meats and cook seafood last because what will be left in the oil after is a fishy flavor.
