Cannabis Roots have long-documented history of being used for medicinal purposes for pain relief. Normally dried and ground to form the basis of paste, the treatment was frequently used for broken bones or drink as a tea by boiled in water for joint cramps, gout and pain relief. This naturally fermented recipe is based on my belief about medical marijuana having benefits for your overall health. Please do your own research and follow the legislation of your jurisdiction.
Ingredients for 6 litters
• 3 Dry Cannabis Roots
• 6 liters (25) cups water
• 1 cup chopped fresh ginger roots
• Turmeric with Black Pepper (optional)
• 1/2 cup sugar (this is for your bug not for you)
• 1 tsp sea salt
• 1 cup ginger bug starter https://youtu.be/0sM4-AEGthM
• Lemon juice (optional)
• Sweetener you prefer, I use stevia power
Instructions
1. Make cannabis tea by bring water to boil.
2. Add cannabis roots, let simmer for 30 minutes
3. Add sugar & salt, stir until sugar completely dissolves.
4. Add ginger roots, turmeric with black pepper.
5. Turn off the heat, cover, and allow the tea to steep overnight. (cool completely)
6. The next day, add ginger bug starter and lemon juice, Stir. Don’t forget to feed your ginger bug with water and sugar before placing into refrigerator.
7. Strain the mixture, and squeeze out all the liquid.
8. Add sweetener (adjust for your personal taste)
9. Fill up your bottles 2/3 full to allow room for gas expansion.
10. Let them sit at room temp. to carbonate for 1-2 days until it reaches your fizzy level. During winter, it may take an extra day or two. The longer you let it ferment the more sugar will eat up by the ginger bug.
11. When you notice bubbles forming, open the bottles to “burp” them, then close again and refrigerate to slow down the fermentation process. They will keep in the fridge up to 1 month. Serve chilled. Enjoy!!!
* Temperature here around 70 f or 21 c
A cooler room will slow fermentation while a warmer room will speed it up.
**Research supports that combining the piperine in black pepper with the curcumin in turmeric enhance curcumin absorption by up to 2,000%
