Two men have been charged in connection with the seizure of €157m worth of suspected cocaine from a bulk cargo ship off the coast of Co. Cork earlier this week.
The men are due to appear at Wexford District Court on Friday.
The =men are from the United Kingdom and Ukraine.
More than 2.2 tonnes of suspected cocaine was recovered from the MV Matthew on Wednesday. The vessel, which remains in Cork port, is now being forensically examined.
Following a consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions, the two men have been charged with conspiracy to import drugs offences.
Five other men were arrested and remain in custody at this time.
