Nitrous oxide – better known as nangs, laughing gas, whippets or nos, is a drug that produces feelings of euphoria. Used medically by doctors and dentists for more than 150 years as sedation and pain relief, thousands of young Kiwis are able to purchase this restricted drug under the guise of baking supplies. Patrick Gower and Emma Olsen investigate whether nangs are simply harmless fun, or a dangerous drug.
