In March 2013, the quiet English town of Peterborough was rocked by a series of horrific crimes.
Over 10 days, three local men – Lukasz Slaboszewski, John Chapman, and Kevin Lee – were brutally had their lives taken by female serial Joanna Dennehy.
Miss Dennehy left her in ditches on the outskirts of Peterborough, leading to the crimes becoming known as the ‘Peterborough ditch crimes’.
But the 31-year-old’s spree of violence did not end there.
After disposing of the, Miss Dennehy traveled to Hereford where she proceeded to two dog walkers selected completely at random.
Both men somehow survived the vicious .
Police launched a major nationwide manhunt to find Dennehy, tracing her movements across rural England over 10 days using CCTV footage.
She was eventually arrested in Herefordshire on April 2nd, 2013.
Upon capture, Miss Dennehy openly bragged about the crimes she had committed, telling officers: “I three people, yep. It was fun.”
Psychiatric evaluations revealed chilling insights into her abnormal mind. Miss Dennehy was officially diagnosed as a psychopath incapable of feeling empathy or remorse.
Doctors said she gained sadistic pleasure from causing to others.
Her own lawyer described her as “a by nature” who for notoriety and enjoyment”.
In November 2013, Miss Dennehy calmly pleaded guilty.
At her 2014 trial, she continued to show zero guilt for her crimes.
The judge sentenced her to life behind bars with no possibility of parole, calling Miss Dennehy “a cruel and calculating serial k” who knew exactly what she was doing.
She remains imprisoned at HMP Low Newton near Durham.
The Peterborough ditch crimes shocked the nation and devastated the families of Dennehy’s victims.
But for criminal experts, her callous crimes also provided a disturbing window into a psychopathic female mind.
Even after all these years, the violent legacy of Joanna Dennehy has not been forgotten.
