Quick and discreet way to make Cannabis infused oils for edibles and topicals.
Ok this is Miss Newty’s experience using this Instant Pot model

You Do NOT need to decarboxylate with this method making it the preferred infusion method for those who require low to no smell.
Lightly grind your herb, I used 1oz bud to 1cup oil (potent). Most people infuse 1oz to 2 cups oil. You can do what works best for your needs.
I also use LIQUID lecithin (soy or sunflower) as an emulsifier, which helps bind the infused oil to your fat cells, improving potency and duration. I use 1 teaspoon of lecithin per cup of oil. You can also choose whichever carrier oil you prefer.
I use coconut oil for most of my infusions but this time I used avocado oil because I was making capsules. Coconut oil hardens when it’s cool so make sure you melt it first.
Granules don’t mix well so I always suggest buying the liquid stuff. You can buy it on amazon or cheaper at a health food store.
Mix it all up in a metal bowl (the bowl needs to fit in the instant pot with space).
Cover the bowl loosely with tinfoil. I used about 1 cup of water in the instant pot and then set the loosely covered metal bowl on the rack. You are basically using it as a double broiler method. The steam and pressure gets hot enough to decarb the weed in the oil during the infusion.
Close it up, make sure it’s set to high pressure and the steam valve is closed. I cook on high pressure for 1:45-2 hours. I’m still experimenting with time. Seems the longer the cook the sleepier the effect.
Take OFF the ‘keep warm’ setting because you will let it vent naturally and cool completely before opening it up to strain. This allows all vapours, terpenes etc to settle back in. I let it cool for 3 hours before I opened it up.
Strain with a mesh strainer or cheese cloth and add 1 more teaspoon of lecithin to the infused oil, mix well and it’s ready to use for capsules or baking.
