This is a pretty simple way to make two types of topicals. As I mentioned in the video, I prefer lotions because I use them more and they are hydrating to the skin. However, the shelf-stability and often the permeability through the skin is better with salves, and you can really concentrate the active ingredients because they are all oil soluble. I am not using gloves in this recipe or any other safety equipment because I am making these for myself, and this is an experimental recipe. If you are making topicals for commercial purposes, please use personal protective equipment.…
The Network of Applied Pharmacognosy is a reserach non-profit formed by Dr. Miyabe Shields and Dr. Riley Kirk. The two talk about what they discussed during these events as well as shenanigans during packing (Riley accidentally greens out tasting canna-butter pierogies), touring an aquaponics facility, getting detained at customs… and so much…

This is not a tutorial on making Cannabis edibles, rather it is a video describing why we do what we do while making edibles. There are two main steps: the first is activating the Cannabis. Activation involves heating the Cannabis flower to remove a specific functional group from the cannabinoids. Removal of the this group makes the cannabinoids much more active in the human body. Once the compounds are activated we then select a good extraction solvent like butter or oil. This video discusses why we choose fatty things to extract cannabinoids in. Thanks for watching! source
There are a ton of ways to make infused products. I like to use the ardent to make tinctures because it is passive, effective, and backed by science… and frees up my kitchen for other projects. In this video I will show how I use this device to first decarboxylate the cannabis flower, then infuse it into MCT oil, followed by the addition of pure compounds to give the ratio of active compounds I’m looking for. Comment questions below, and keep it positive! source
